Intel Desktops reaches EOL at home
After years of using Intel, we have officially retired all the Intel desktops at our house and have switched to AMD and there are reasons for that. Some of these reasons include:
- Better price:performance ratio
- Supporting competition
- Some better Intel processors are just more expensive than they should be
- We don't need the best of the best processors. As long as it works it's fine
Call me an AMD fanboy, but in today's market, AMD has the best price for their processors and they work great. I don't really care about 2 frames differences or 2 seconds longer wait for a video transcoding if it means saving a lot of money so today we've phased in our complete range of AMD desktops.
We still have Intel laptops such as my Macbook. It's just the fact that AMD isn't that good at lowering battery consumption.
