The Big Bang Theory: Review
Well, it's been a week since I got hooked to the smashingly popular hit TV series, The Big Bang Theory. It's funny, witty and filled with memorable plot twists.

For those who don't know the premise of the story, let me summarize the basic story line. The story is set in Pasadena, California and revolves around two Caltech prodigies: Leonard Hofstader, an experimental physicist and Sheldon Cooper, a theoretical physicist; both whom live across from Penny, the attractive blonde waitress with a show-biz aspirations.
The beauty of this comedy is the fact that it shows that being smart is both funny and can be cool even though the characters can sometimes be classified as dorks. Their social interactions with Penny and other people are just absolutely hilarious. I haven't been able to find a comedy TV series that can top this one just for the fact that it pits smart people interacting with "normal" people. Especially since Sheldon has the mind of a computer (if, else if, else), his response is even funnier to me since I am a computer geek. This is definitely evident in Season 2 Episode 13 (The Friendship Algorithm).
There's just something about big words that makes it funny and The Big Bang Theory definitely dishes out tons of hilarious big words. Another thing I love about The Big Bang Theory is the fact they make sure that they don't bash the geeks/nerds so that you're laughing with them instead of at them. This is important as the media have been portraying geeks and nerds as outsiders of what's called normal and have been condemning them for decades. It's great to see that there's a show that doesn't condemn smart people and to show that smart people are just like any other person that you may encounter.
Overall, a great TV series and hopefully we'll see even more seasons of it. It's currently on its third season and you can catch it on CTV in Canada and CBS in the United States on Mondays at 9:30 PM.
